CAF RISE ABOVE: WASP
CAF RISE ABOVE: WASP is a Commemorative Air Force member driven 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to honoring the Women Airforce Service Pilots of World War II – America’s first female military aviators – by inspiring the next generation to defy expectations and achieve success.
The group’s educational outreach programs provide young people, especially young women, a greater appreciation of their own potential, an awareness of the opportunities that surround them, and a mentorship pathway to accomplish their dreams. RISE ABOVE: WASP is an educational outreach initiative of the CAF’s RISE ABOVE program that inspires young people to RISE ABOVE their own adversity by connecting to the stories of the Greatest Generation.
Launching Into New Territory
As part of the CAF RISE ABOVE national educational outreach program, CAF RISE ABOVE: WASP rightfully honors the trailblazing Women Airforce Service Pilots, an often overlooked group that were once missing from history books, to bring their story to life and give a new generation a unique lens in which to see themselves.
CAF RISE ABOVE: WASP oversees the creation, launch and logistics of a mobile panoramic theater and multiple portable dome theaters featuring an original film about the WASP that will be continually deployed in communities around the country in support of the group’s mission, as well as create unique educational content made easily accessible online.
The CAF WASP Squadron, the group’s membership arm, engages communities with the stories and lessons of the WASP, especially girls and young women, to inspire them to be the best version of themselves. The programs encourages them to push boundaries, achieve lofty goals, and fly high in all aspects of their lives, while having the skills to successfully manage all situations.
